We repair and replace toilets, faucets, showers and tubs. Some jobs are a quick part swap. Others are worth planning as a set. Either way, we look first, explain, and give you the price before we start.

Plan the order

If more than one fixture is tired, do the work in sequence. Plumbing behind the wall comes first, then fixtures, then finishes.

Doing a shower valve after the tile is up costs more than doing it before.

We tell you which jobs can wait and which should be done together.

Toilets

Measure the distance from the wall to the drain centre before you buy. It is called the rough-in, and the wrong size will not fit.

A hairline crack in the bowl or a base that leaks at the floor often points to replacement.

Worn internal parts are cheap to fix. We tell you which applies.

Faucets and spouts

A faucet that drips at the spout needs a cartridge or washer. One that leaks under the sink may need new supply lines.

If water comes from the tub spout while the shower runs, the diverter is worn.

Most of these are repairs, not replacements.

Leaks at fixtures

Fixture leaks show up under vanities, around toilet bases and behind tub walls. Stains on the ceiling below are a late sign.

Find them early. Water in a wall causes more damage than a worn washer ever will.

Cost drivers

Price depends on the fixture you choose, how old the connections are and whether walls need opening.

Questions we get asked

How do I measure a toilet's rough-in distance?

Measure from the finished wall behind the toilet to the centre of the floor bolts. Twelve inches is common, but older homes vary. Write the number down before you shop. We can measure on site before you order.

We have one bathroom. How do we manage during a replacement?

Plan for the toilet to be out of use for part of a day. We schedule work to keep that window short and tell you when to arrange alternatives. Tub or shower work needs more notice. Ask before booking.

Why does water come out of my tub spout when the shower is on?

The diverter inside the spout or valve is worn and lets water pass through. It is usually a small repair, not a new tub. We check the spout type first. Some need replacing as a unit.

There is a small drip under my vanity. Does it matter?

Yes. A drip at the supply line or trap, left alone, soaks the cabinet floor and can spread. Dry the area and see where it starts. Tightening sometimes works. Worn parts need replacing, which is a short job.

Which fixture should I replace first if the budget is limited?

Start with whatever leaks or fails to work. A leaking toilet seal or shower valve causes damage. Cosmetic updates can wait. We give prices per fixture so you can stage the work.

What are signs of water behind a tub or shower wall?

Soft or stained drywall nearby, peeling paint, a musty smell and loose or cracked tile. Caulk that keeps failing is another warning. Do not wait if you notice these. We look at the source before any repair plan.

Can a cracked toilet bowl be repaired?

Not in a way we would stand behind. A crack in porcelain weakens the bowl and may leak. Replacement is the sensible route. We tell you the full price, including removal of the old toilet, before we start.
